Terms of Service

This page outlines the terms and conditions governing the use of The Skills Point. It includes information on user responsibilities, account creation, service agreements, payment terms, and liability limitations. By using the platform, users agree to adhere to these terms. 1. User Accounts

  • Account Creation: To access certain features of the Platform, users (both professionals and clients) are required to create an account by providing personal information, including name, email address, phone number, and password.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login details and any activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for unauthorized access or misuse of your account.
  • Profile Information: Professionals are required to provide accurate information about their skills, experience, and services. Clients must provide their needs and preferences truthfully to ensure an efficient match.

2. Platform Services

  • Service Provision: The Skills Point connects professional freelancers with potential clients. The Platform itself does not facilitate or handle payments between users.
  • Professional-Client Relationship: Any agreements, transactions, or disputes between professionals and clients are between those parties. We holds no liability for the outcomes of these relationships.

3. Subscription and Fees

  • Subscription Fees: Users may subscribe to premium features. If you wish to cancel, refunds are offered for the remaining portion of the subscription on a prorated basis.
  • Advertising and Listing Fees: Refunds are also offered for advertising and listing fees for any unused portion if canceled.
  • Refund Requests: Refunds can be requested by contacting our support team via the Dashboard -> Disputes section. Please provide your Username, Transaction ID, and the reason for the refund request.

4. Payments

We do not process payments or facilitate financial transactions between professionals and clients. All payments are to be handled directly between the parties involved. The Skills Point bears no responsibility for payment disputes or failures.

5. User Responsibilities

  • Content and Conduct: You are responsible for any content you upload or share on the Platform. You must not post false, misleading, or illegal content, and you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prohibited Activities: You must not engage in any unlawful activities, including but not limited to fraud, harassment, or infringement of intellectual property.

6. Data Privacy

  • Privacy Policy: Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. You can view the full Privacy Policy here.

7. Refund Policy

  • Refund Eligibility: Refunds are offered for subscription, advertising, and listing fees, as specified in our Refund Policy.
  • Refund Process: Users must request refunds via the Dashboard -> Disputes section, and our support team will process requests within 5-7 business days.

8. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: All content, materials, trademarks, and intellectual property on the Platform remain the property of AFTOC Tourism Consults Limited or its licensors.
  • User License: Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license to use the Platform for personal and business purposes as permitted under these Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • Disclaimer: We provide the Platform “as is” and make no representations or warranties regarding the services’ quality, accuracy, or reliability.
  • Liability: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or the services provided by professionals and clients.

10. Termination of Account

  • Account Suspension: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for any violation of these Terms and Conditions or misuse of the Platform.
  • Voluntary Termination: You may deactivate or delete your account at any time through your Dashboard.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Platform. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Service regularly.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Uganda.
